HEDGE TRIMMING & MAINTENANCE

Established hedges require trimming to keep them dense and compact and formal hedges require more frequent trimming than informal hedges.

POLLARDING

Pollarding is a pruning system where we remove the upper branches of a tree, which results in a dense head of foliage and branches.

CROWN REDUCTION

We reduce a certain percentage of the overall height and size of the tree by removing the ends of branches evenly. This allows more light to pass through the tree.

STUMP REMOVAL

When trees are felled, we recommend that their stumps should be removed to prevent suckering and fungal root rots. We do this by grinding out the root with a machine to eliminate the stump. We have a variety of machines to do this job from small pedestrian grinders to large self propelled machines.

TREE PRUNING

Most garden trees only require minimal maintenance, so a little sensible pruning can ensure the tree remains healthy and safe.

TREE FELLING

Trees need removing for a variety of reasons. These included; it may have become diseased, unsafe, or a problem to neighbouring trees.

CROWN THINNING

Crown thinning is the process of removing select branches to thin out the fullness of the tree. With proper techniques, thinning creates a balanced crown structure without altering the shape or size of the tree. It also reduces the weight on heavy limbs and removes dead, weak, overreaching or duplicated branches.

LOG SPLITTING

Do you have a pile of logs that are ready for splitting but just don’t have the time? We can come and split & stack them for you.

BRANCH & LIMB REMOVAL

Every branch removed inflicts a wound on the tree. The ability of a tree to withstand a wound and maintain healthy growth is greatly affected by an accurate pruning cut.

DEAD-WOODING

Dead wooding is the removal of branches due to natural ageing or external influences. Removing the dead wood will give the tree the best chance of healing wounds and therefore a longer life span.
